Access Awaits: Navigating Public Beach Access on Perdido Key
Perdido Key boasts stunning public beaches that welcome visitors to enjoy sun-soaked days and picturesque views of the Gulf. Several public beach access points are available, each with limited amenities.
All public beach access points are conveniently located along Perdido Key Drive, the island’s main road. Each access point is marked with blue signs and offers limited parking and portable restrooms. Seasonally, Beach Access #2 is equipped with lifeguards for added safety.
While amenities at the public access points are minimal, the beauty of Perdido Key’s beaches more than makes up for it!
Know the Boundaries: Enjoying the coastline is one of the highlights of any visit, and a little awareness helps keep the experience pleasant for everyone. Some stretches of beach are associated with nearby residences or managed areas, so it's helpful to pay attention to posted signage and access markers as you explore. For the easiest and most convenient public entry, access points 2, 3, and 4 are especially popular with visitors, offering a smooth way to step right into the shoreline experience.Â
For those looking to explore even more of the area’s natural beauty, the state parks nearby are truly worth a visit. With affordable parking options, these spaces make it easy to spend the day surrounded by scenic views, wildlife, and well-maintained amenities. Visiting parks like Big Lagoon State Park, Gulf State Park, Perdido Key State Park, and Johnson Beach National Seashore is not only a great way to enjoy the beach, but also helps support the ongoing care and preservation of these special places for future guests to enjoy.
