The Perdido Key Visitor Center also offers convenient bike racks with an on-site repair station and a relaxing picnic area nestled in the beautiful Perdido Key Coastal Demonstration Garden. It’s the perfect spot to recharge before or after your adventures!
Getting to Perdido Key
By Car
From I-65: Head south through Alabama and take Exit 69 for Alabama State Route 113 toward Pensacola. Turn left onto Hwy. 113, a four-lane expressway, and follow it for approximately 13 miles until it dead-ends. At the end of the road, turn right onto SR-31 and continue for about a mile. Then, turn left (south) onto Florida State Road 29 at Flomaton and continue driving south for about 45 minutes until you reach Nine Mile Road in Pensacola. Turn right onto Nine Mile Road, then left onto Pine Forest Road. Continue south on Pine Forest Road until you reach the traffic light at Blue Angel Parkway and turn right. Travel approximately 15 minutes to Sorrento Road (SR-292) and turn right again. Continue on Sorrento Road as it becomes Perdido Key Drive when you cross the Theo Baars Bridge — and you’ve arrived on Perdido Key!
From I-10: Take Exit 7 and head south on Pine Forest Road (SR-297). Continue until you reach the traffic light at Blue Angel Parkway (SR-173) and turn right. Travel approximately 15 minutes to Sorrento Road (SR-292) and turn right again. Continue on Sorrento Road as it becomes Perdido Key Drive when you cross the Theo Baars Bridge — and you’ve arrived on Perdido Key!
From Pensacola International Airport: Head NW on Airport Blvd. toward College Blvd. Turn left onto N 9th Avenue and then turn right on Bayou Blvd (FL-296). Continue approximately 6 miles (road will change names several times). Turn left (south) onto Blue Angel Parkway (FL-173) and continue for approximately 7 miles. Turn right (west) onto Sorrento Road (FL-292) and travel for approximately 6 miles. Continue on Sorrento Road as it becomes Perdido Key Drive when you cross the Theo Baars Bridge — and you’ve arrived on Perdido Key!
From Gulf Shores Airport: Head south on AL-59 (Gulf Shores Parkway) toward the coast. Turn left (east) onto AL-182 (Beach Boulevard) and continue for approximately 14 miles. When you cross the Florida state line, AL-182 becomes FL-292 (Perdido Key Drive), and you’ve officially arrived in Perdido Key!
By Air
Pensacola International Airport (PNS) is located approximately 22 miles from Perdido Key and offers convenient access for travelers from around the country. Pensacola International Airport is served by eight major airlines with nonstop flights to dozens of cities nationwide.
Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) is located approximately 24 miles from Perdido Key. This airport offers commercial service through Allegiant Airlines, providing select seasonal routes from popular cities, along with general aviation facilities.
Both airports offer rental cars, rideshare services, and easy-to-navigate routes to Perdido Key.
By Boat
Visit Perdido via the beautiful waterways surrounding the island. Water access is available from the vast Gulf of Mexico to the south and the peaceful Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) to the north.
For those coming from inland waterways, Perdido Key can be accessed from Pensacola Bay through Big Lagoon. Sail, paddle, or motor your way through to the ICW and find yourself passing under the Theo Baars Bridge at the eastern end of the Key. From the northwest, take a trip down the Perdido River and Perdido Bay to float past Innerarity Point and access the ICW on either side of Ono Island. To the west, Mobile Bay and Bon Secour Bay connect through Oyster Bay and the scenic Portage Creek. Find yourself in Wolf Bay and Bay La Launch to access the Perdido Bay!
