Welcome to Perdido Key Signs

The two welcome signs in Perdido Key, welcoming you to Florida at the Flora-Bama and welcoming you to the island after crossing the Theo Baars bridge, is often photographed and admired by locals and visitors. The Welcome signs were put into place in 2014 by the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce and are still maintained today. Maintenance needed includes landscaping, lighting, and even the proper positioning of the American Flag standing behind the sign.
Other opportunities to help support the beautification of our welcome signs are to sign up to volunteer to clean the signs or decorate for the holidays, such as for military appreciation month!
Perdido Key loves our military! We celebrate military appreciation each year during the month of May. Our vision is to cover Perdido Key with American flags and pride for our military community. Aside from the decor of our sign, May includes military appreciation events throughout the month!
Crosswalks

After hearing much concern about the safety of crossing the street on Perdido Key Drive, the Perdido Chamber spoke with our state legislators and decided to start a petition to fix the crosswalk signage along the state road, from the bridge to the state line. A finalized petition would allow the crosswalk lights to be changed to red so that cars will have to stop for pedestrian traffic.
Multi-Use Path
The Perdido Key Multi-Use Path is a scenic and convenient trail designed for walkers, joggers, and cyclists to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Stretching alongside Perdido Key Drive, the path provides a safe and accessible route for residents and visitors to explore the island, taking in views of the surrounding beaches, dunes, and wildlife. This paved trail enhances the outdoor experience, connecting key locations on the island while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
In addition to recreation, the multi-use path serves as an environmentally friendly transportation option, reducing the need for vehicles and encouraging eco-conscious travel. By offering a dedicated space for non-motorized activities, the path helps preserve the charm and tranquility of Perdido Key while supporting sustainable tourism and local businesses.
