Fun for the entire family; celebrate Mardi Gras island-style this year, with Cajun food, live music, a festive 'Magic of Mardi Gras' boat parade & spectacular fireworks show. Festivities begin with a boat parade at noon; $500 in prize money for the best-decorated boats ($350-1st place, $150-2nd place & $50 3rd place). A Cajun cook-off, starting at 2pm, will be a showdown among talented chefs competing for a $200 prize for People's Choice, $200 award for Judge's Choice & $100 Team Spirit. Also added this year is the Backyard Chef category in addition to the Pro Restaurant Competition. Tickets available for purchase to sample culinary creations. Having Fun, Wish You Were Here: The History of Florida Through Postcards. Liz Coursen traces the history of postcards from Florida, starting with Ponce de Léon himself, to show that the images on these mementos helped to make Florida what it is today. Before you spend a lot of money, use that money to benefit a wonderful local non-profit group & get some new fun items for your closet! $20 donation at the door will go directly to the WWW’s fund for Making Waves to Wipe Out Ovarian Cancer! Spread the Word. Here’s How it Works: Bring as many items as you want. Clothes, shoes, belts, hats, purses, formals & jewelry. (No lingerie). Should be only nice looking clothing. (Repair free). Garments should be washed, pressed & on hangers. Drop off clothes from 3:00-4:00 & enjoy Wine & Cheese while clothes are being organized. No clothes accepted after 4:00. Swap starts at 4:00 pm!
